Richard van Gils MA

Richard van Gils studied history of international relations at Utrecht University from 1989 to 1994. He specialises in the Netherlands' military participation in peacekeeping, combat and humanitarian operations after World War II.
Van Gils was instrumental in the revival of the operational diary system in the armed forces and participated in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan in 2006-2007 as an operational diarist on the staff of Regional Command South under Major General A.J.H. van Loon.
