Dr. Quirijn van der Vegt
Researcher
Quirijn van der Vegt (1979) studied history at Leiden University from 2003 to 2007. Subsequentlyhe joined Utrecht University as a PhD candidate, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 2013 for his thesis Take-off. The build-up of the Netherlands Air Force 1945-1973.
Since 2012, he has been a permanent researcher at the Netherlands Institute for Military History. He specialises in the post-war history of the (Dutch) air forces, on which he has published several articles. As a researcher within the Afghanistan project, he will mainly, though not exclusively, focus on air power related issues.
